THIS MONTH'S FEATURED RECIPE
JAPANESE STYLE RAWMEN NOODLES

We tend to think that WE are the only living beings but there are entire universes and billions or trillions of living beings in the soil, on the Earth, in the kombucha and so on that have a synergistic relationship that is good for each other and healthy!
The noodles, remind me of hair and the feminine energy.
So as you can see there is a lot of meaning and symbolism that you can come up with for yourself and I hope you enjoy this recipe!
Makes 1 to 2 servings
1 Butternut Squash (Yams to substitute if squash is not available)
1 Young Coconut
1 Persimmon (Mango or Papaya to substitute)
1 Radish
1 Bottle of Kombucha
Fresh Basil and Chives for garnish
Red Spicy Peppers and Seaweed for garnish (optional)
Using my Raw Star Ceramic Peeler (keeps it fresher longer, is easier and the best to use!) “shave” the butternut squash and put on a wooden or bamboo cutting board (never use plastic cutting boards the plastic will get into your food!). I used my signature series 8” Ceramic Knife for this recipe for the best precision cuts to make the very fine and thin “rawmen noodles”. Pour a bottle of Kombucha into a serving bowl and put your sliced noodles in there. Allow to marinate and soak as long as possible, best if you can cover and allow to soak in the fridge overnight the next day it will have a “cooked” consistency! Open a young coconut and carve out the “meat” into a boiled egg shape. Do the same with the persimmon for the “yolk” top with garnish and serve.
I chose this “Rawmen” recipe for several reasons as I like to use symbolism along with creating
something new, unique and special.
For this recipe there are a lot of “circles” and when I think of the Earth I think of circles, so the shape of the bowl, the radish, the “egg” it all comes full circle just like our universe, cosmos, our very lives also come full circle. Raw to me is about connecting and reconnecting with what is real, with nature, with Mother Nature and all her wonders and gifts. The kombucha has living enzymes and is part of this miracle of life.
