Weight-Loss Special Epic Finale by Markus Rothkranz Yes, I’m a fan. I have to say that I really love the results both Markus and his girlfriend, Cara Brotman, have achieved in their bodies by following the program he prescribes. They are both about my age…right around 50ish. And honestly, they look AMAZING! In the video […]
ARE “RAW” ALMONDS REALLY A SAFE NUT FOR HUMANS TO EAT? I love nuts, pretty much any kind of nut. But of all the nuts out there, if I had to choose just one to satisfy my taste buds, as well as fill all of the diverse roles I’ve become accustomed to filling with these […]
Tracy (Sweet Potato Mama on YouTube) talks about her struggle with weight-loss and body image and the various diets and programs she has been on to try to lose the excess weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. She also explains why she has decided to commit to a low-fat, high-carb, plant-based, starch-centered plan to achieve […]

I have been watching Freelee and DurianRider for several years now and while I don’t always fully agree with their views I have to say that I am completely with her in her response to this ridiculous comment she received from a recent viewer. **WARNING: The following footage is graphic but so convincing that I […]
This is a post I have been needing to write for a very long time now. But the thought of it gives me so much pain that I have been procrastinating like crazy! And I’ve basically been in hiding. If you have been paying any attention at all, you’ve noticed that I have not been […]
Yes, I love you guys! And those of you who know me know that I love giving hugs…and maybe even the occasional peck on the cheek…for that super special friend 😉 But the title of this post isn’t referring to a physical show of affection. It is an acronym for Keep It Simple Sweetheart! And […]

I heard back from Kelli at Blendtec. They are sending me one of their blenders so that I can do a side-by-side review of their brand compared to Vitamix. As you probably already know if you’ve been involved in the Raw Food community for even a short time, Vitamix seems to be lauded as the standard in the industry, when it comes to high-speed blenders. Now, I must confess, I got along just fine as a high-raw foodist for over 3 years using my steady-Freddy Oster. But that was long after I had already blown out my first Vitamix.
Happy Earth Day!!! For my raw dessert submission I made a Chocolate-Mint cheesecake, the chocolate resembling “dirt” and the Mint resembling “grass”. The food coloring I used to dye the mint topping green with is actually liquid mint-flavored chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is our #1 source of oxygen. Without oxygen, humans could not exist. So what better way to say “Happy Birthday” to Mother Earth than with a chlorophyll-rich cake?

Cauliflower is one of my favorite vegetables, and it was abundant at the farmers’ market today. So, I picked up a big, beautiful head to whip up my mash for dinner. Cauliflower comes in white, green, and purple varieties, and works wonderfully processed into a mash. This is my version of mashed potatoes. Cauliflower has a kick to it, which I love.

Well, the last two days have been spent updating the Raw Friendly Restaurant Directory here on Eighty Percent Raw. I’m a little embarrassed to say that it’s probably been 3 years since I went through that list to check the validity of the information there…which is kind of a big deal for me, really, since my initial commitment when creating that page was to make sure that it only contained the most up-to-date raw-friendly restaurant information on the internet. I had visited several other raw food websites prior to creating this directory on EPR and found that many or most of the links on those pages were outdated with bad links or no links at all. So, needless to say, going through this list was quite disappointing for me.

I have just completed a 7 day juice fast during which I had only 3 eight ounce glasses of fresh organic juice (usually an orange juice, a watermelon juice and a young coconut water) and one cup of clear vegetable broth a day. I feel absolutely fabulous, full of energy, a lot lighter (I lost 8 pounds) and my skin is glowing and I am totally refreshed and ready to deal with whatever comes up.
I used to think it was safe to buy personal care products from health food stores, but upon further research, I found out many products are not safe at all. To be certified organic, foods are under strict regulations, but there are absolutely no regulations for labeling personal care products “organic.” The products flaunt words such as “natural” and “organic” in big lettering on the front label, but if you scan through the tiny words listed in the ingredients section usually found on the back label, you will see many words that look like they belong in a science experiment.
Wheatgrass, a potent natural healer, has been remarkably effective for thousands of my patients since I began using it therapeutically in 1995. It has also made my job a lot easier because it often heals when nothing else works.
