Inspiration comes from many people and places always! Lately Facebook has been my haven of collecting and sharing thought provoking and inspirational information. A short time ago, I came across a link for an article called, “7 Reasons Kale is the new beef”. Just this week, deeply engrossed in conversation about putting kale into the diet, I was inspired by a couple of friends to create this Kale rich and versatile recipe… for anyone who may be struggling with creative Vegan dishes, or just making tasty options that even the most stubborn flesh eaters can enjoy this is for YOU!
This is Chef Adam Graham with a nostalgic smoothie inspired by fond memories from my youth. March is the time of year that the Shamrock Shake makes its appearance on billboards around the country. No longer do I cue up at the Un-Happy Meal trough to stuff my belly with industrial waste (watch the video). That’s not to say that I don’t miss drinking a Shamrock Shake… I do.

A concern of many who make the switch to raw foods is how can they fulfill their cravings for their customary snacks and treats, as many of those foods don’t play a part in their new diet. If something sweet is your snack of choice, once you get accustomed to the basics of making Raw Desserts you find that it is easy to satisfy sweet cravings with only a few ingredients. Salty snacks require a bit more creativity.
Ripe, red apples, whole raisins, and freshly ground cinnamon, sweetened with raw agave nectar and dehydrated into soft, homemade style cookies.
This is a refreshing breakfast or a pick-me-up after school. Kids love this smoothie and have no idea it’s good for them;)! It’s a great treat to put them on their feet and get them ready for the day or provide that extra boost to help with homework.
This Independence Day, how about celebrating not only the independence of your country, but the independence of you? So often we tend to feel insecure about the future. What will happen to us? Will we get sick? Heaven forbid we get a suspicious lump or bump, or start to feel our thoughts and memories slipping as we get older. These uncomfortable thoughts may become more uncomfortable as we start to reach ages where there is more likelihood of this occurring.
I recently heard someone say that to place ‘working’ in front of mother is just about the most useless idea ever. And I totally agree. I mean, of COURSE mothers are working. Being a mother requires work. The only question is are you working one job or two?
This is a delicious and healthy granola mix that you can use for breakfast or as a snack during the day. It’s great served with yogurt in a parfait or have it with rice milk.
